Time for a Mammogram
Real families affected by breast cancer share their stories in an audio-animated journey that reminds us a mammogram gives a better chance of survival.
THE CHALLENGE
Our challenge was to create a thoughtful and compelling digital experience that shows how the effects of breast cancer spread through the community.
WE’RE ALL AFFECTED
Using interviews with real people affected by breast cancer, we paired audio clips with animations of dividing cells. New cells, representing family and friends, split from the original, representing the cancer sufferer.
CAREFULLY CONSIDERED DESIGN
The experience was built on a two-tone colour palette with clean, evocative shapes and simple interactions. The design brought the stories into sharp focus while stressing the importance of getting a mammogram.
RESULTS:
The campaign reached 79% of all Kiwis. During October Awareness Month, more women booked a mammogram than ever before, making it New Zealand’s most successful mammogram awareness drive.
